A man who publicly denied steering borrowers into loans they couldn't afford has now been indicted on 38 counts of mail fraud, conspiracy and money laundering.
Ron Haycock, was featured in an investigation on a local Utah news show in 2007. Haycock and his business, Lawrence Skinner and Associates, were under scrutiny after home buyers contacted Rick Gephardt, host of Get Gephardt Investigation. Haycock denied any wrongdoing when
Gephardt's news team questioned him on the show.
Officials said Haycock used inflated appraisals and falsified loan applications in order to get borrowers qualified for loans that were based on incomes that were bloated as much as 500 percent the true income.
