A North Carolina real estate appraiser pleaded guilty to participating in a $15 million mortgage fraud scheme.
Michael Gee faces up to 30 years in prison and a $1 million fine for his role in a house flipping scheme that involved a reported 200 properties. Prosecutors said the loss attributable to Gee was more than $2.5 million.
Gee pleaded guilty to making a false statement to a bank after prosecutors dismissed eight other charges.
