Broker, Closing Agent Sentenced

A mortgage broker who also played the role of closing agent was sentenced for his participation in a $1.2 million scam in Florida.
John Mohan, 38, misappropriated more than $1.2 million in funds that were being held in escrow, including payoffs for existing mortgages. He pleaded guilty to one count of wire fraud and was sentenced to 33 months in prison.
