Mortgage Broker to be Sentenced

A former mortgage broker accepted a plea deal that would only charge him with one fraudulent mortgage transaction although there appears there were more.
Ernie Salazar said he accepted full responsibility for his choices but that others involved knew what was going on and he is taking the fall. Reportedly, Salazar recruited a straw buyer to purchase a $550,000 house as an investment property with the agreement she would receive $90,000 from Salazar as payment. Salazar fraudulently claimed that the woman would occupy the home.
People involved in other real estate transactions with Salazar said he is getting a "sweetheart deal." Just in time for Valentine's Day.
