A mortgage broker is accused of forging loan application documents to open a line of credit, preparing false verifications of deposits and submitting fraudulent loan documents to underwriters.
Eric Jason Sunsdahl, 34, is being charged with committing mortgage fraud related crimes from 2004 to June 2007. Prosecutors said Sunsdahl misrepresented financial data to secure mortgage approvals for unqualified borrowers.
Sunsdahl allegedly conspired with Parish Marketing to assist in the purchase of 200 properties using straw buyers. Michael Parish was sentenced to 13 years, along with his wife, Ardith and son-in-law Christopher Troup who were sentenced to five and 10 years, respectively; and appraiser Donald T. Yeager, who was sentenced to 15 months in federal prison.
