Credit Monitoring and Identity Protection in One

Credit Monitoring and Identity Protection in One - Intersections Protects Consumers ' Online and Offline Identity by Adding State-of-the-Art Anti-Spyware to its Identity Guard Service -- Identity Guard Safe Connect is first to combine credit bureau file monitoring and behavior-based anti-malware from Sana Security to create 'Anti- Spyware for your Life'

CHANTILLY, Va. -- (Aug. 14, 2007) -- Intersections, Inc. today introduced Identity Guard® Safe Connect, the first product to combine credit bureau file monitoring and behavior-based anti- malware from Sana Security that detects and removes malicious robots, or "bots," used by identity thieves to steal consumer information from personal computers. "Monitoring your credit report makes sense because identify theft can come from any source; however identity thieves increasingly are using sophisticated programs to acquire information from your PC," said Michael Stanfield, CEO of Intersections Inc. "Every time you transact online, you potentially expose personal information that can be used days, weeks or sometimes years later by identity thieves. Today we have the technology to stop criminals in their tracks before they have a chance to damage your credit and disrupt your life."

Intersections has partnered with Sana Security to offer Identity Guard® Safe Connect to protect consumers' personal data and identity in one product. Identity Guard® Safe Connect protects people and data by using advanced behavioral technology to detect and remove malicious software attacks as they occur on their computer. This eliminates the need for scanning and signature updates, providing instant and constant protection against known and unknown threats, including malicious bots that can be used to install key logging software to steal passwords and data. As a result, Identity Guard® Safe Connect disrupts thieves attempting to steal a computer users' identity to commit financial fraud, and protects the computer user through daily monitoring of his or her credit bureau file. If suspicious or fraudulent activity is detected in his or her credit profile, the computer user is notified via email alerts.

"The problem of identity theft is greatly exacerbated by the explosion in bots, which not only victimize users without their knowledge, but also evade traditional security techniques such as signature-based systems, making such security methods obsolete for this type of attack," according to Tim Eades, senior vice president of Sana Security, Inc. "We are very impressed that Intersections has taken the initiative to ensure that their customers have access to a solution to this problem with Identity Guard Safe Connect."
