The convicted former head of the Urban League of Northeastern New York has pleaded guilty to more charges after being indicted again on mortgage fraud charges.
Aaron R. Dare, 40, is already serving a 63 month federal prison term and now faces up to 9 to 27 more years in prison for two other criminal cases. Altogether, Dare faces a minimum of 14 years in prison. Sentencing is set for June 2. The indictment states the fraud scheme involved 25 properties and that Dare pocketed about $1.5 million.
Dare is incarcerated at the Federal Medical Center Devens in Ayer, Mass. He had requested to serve his sentence under home arrest citing a fatal heart condition that cannot be adequately treated in prison. The request is pending.
