Family Business in Question

Charges have been filed against a prominent Florida family and three others in connection to a multimillion-dollar mortgage and real estate property fraud scheme.
John Pavao, 42, his wife Debra Pavao, 39; and their daughter Shastine Pavao, 22 along with Nancy Shine, all of Florida; and George and Cindy Rego of Fall River, Mass., face several charges including racketeering and multiple counts of grand theft and organized fraud.
The Pavao family was featured in the October 2007 edition of Opportunist Magazine. John Pavao was on the cover and told the magazine his motto was, “All you need is a passion to succeed.”
The Pavaos operate real estate agencies SCJ Investments and JPS Investments in Ocoee, Shastine Pavao is listed as the president of both corporations.
