FBI, HUD Get Raises from Washington

Obama's budget plan includes a raise for the Federal Bureau of Investigation and the Department of Housing and Urban Development so the agencies can get better prepared to manage the prevention of and prosecution of mortgage fraud activity.
The proposed budget includes $47.5 billion for HUD for fiscal year 2010, which is a $7.4 billion increase over the just approved House budget bill. Although currently it is not clear how much of those funds are dedicated to combating mortgage fraud, details of the budget are to be revealed in mid-April.
