February 26, 2009
Stolen identities and false information were used to help three individuals run a multimillion-dollar mortgage scheme over a four year period. The trio racked up about $2.6 million worth of illegally obtained mortgage loans.
William Montelle Loyd III, 56, was sentenced to 84 months in prison for his participation in the scheme. He also faces three years of supervised release and restitution in the amount of $1.26 million. His cohorts, Kelley Anne Spaulding and Elizabeth Whitaker Clement both pleaded guilty in the case last year.
The loans, funded by E-Loan, included those fraudulently submitted in Loyd's father's and brother's names without their knowledge.
Pre-trial hearing is set for March 10.
