Whole Gang Pleads Not Guilty
|
| |
April 10, 2009
Nineteen of the suspects from one of the largest mortgage fraud cases in Southern California have pleaded not guilty to the charges.
Eight of the suspects, known gang members, are being held because they pose a danger to the community, the judge said. The others are expected to post bond. The group which ranged in age from 25 to 58, included one man with a law degree and a woman seven months pregnant.
The one thing they certainly have in common is they are all facing racketeering conspiracy charges in connection with a $100 million mortgage fraud scheme that involved 220 houses.
