Lawsuit Follows Exoneration

A Pennsylvania woman and former title company owner has slapped a $5 million lawsuit against the state’s Attorney General and other law officials after being acquitted of mortgage fraud charges.
Anita Peterson, former owner of Mountain Valley Abstract, was cleared of more than a dozen charges that included perjury and falsely testifying before a grand jury. Prosecutors had contended Peterson had falsified documents for buyers to qualify for mortgage loans.
Those named in the lawsuit include Attorney General Thomas Corbett Jr., FBI Special Agent Kevin Colgan and Dana Kleintop.
