In 2004, Matthew Bevan Cox and Rebecca Marie Hauck were dubbed the "Bonny and Clyde of mortgage scams" by MortgageDaily.com. The two fugitives were on a mortgage fraud spree.
In 2006, Hauck was arrested in Texas and has since begun a five-year prison sentence.
Before his arrest, it is estimated that Cox was responsible for $15 million in fake mortgages.
The television show American Greed previously aired a show about Cox and his crime spree. The show included interviews with victims, an interview with Hauck in prison and a phone interview with Cox from prison.
