DETROIT -- (May 4, 2007) -- National City
(

is offering a free seminar from 6-7 p.m. on May 16, 2007,
at all 122 branches in Southeast Michigan covering financial
tips on budgeting, the smart use of credit and avoiding
and dealing with identity theft.
National City Bank has declared the week of May 14 -
18 as "Get Smart About Credit Week" in Southeast
Michigan. The bank is a partner with the American Bankers
Association on the national Get Smart About Credit campaign.
David Boyle, president for National City in Michigan
emphasized, "Simplifying the financial lives of our
customers and taking care of our communities is a priority
for National City. Everyone benefits from a solid foundation
of knowledge on using credit properly, saving and budgeting
for the future, and avoiding and dealing with identity
theft."
He continued, "Our young adults, especially those
graduating from high school are eager to take on new financial
responsibilities, but their enthusiasm needs to be balanced
with smart decisions. By teaching good credit habits now,
we can hope for better money managers, higher home ownership
rates, and fewer bankruptcies in the future. Our skills
and knowledge as bankers are the perfect fit to guide
individuals and families in forming sound financial habits
and practices. We urge everyone to consider taking advantage
of our seminars on May 16."
The seminars are free to National City customers and
non-customers, and refreshments will be served. Space
is limited and reservations are requested at the branch
by May 15.
