Poser Gets Millions in Mortgage Loans
|
| |
March 4, 2009
A man who posed as a mortgage broker was able to defraud enough people in Indiana to rack up about $2 million in fraudulent mortgage loans.
It's unclear how he got funding for the scheme but Jason Keigler, 36, was charged with 13 felony counts, including identity deception, financial fraud, credit card fraud and being an unlicensed broker. Keigler was allegedly telling everyone he was a licensed broker and could secure loans for them, but after obtaining the loans, he was keeping the proceeds.
Friends said Keigler was a good guy, very likable and a church-goer. He is currently being held in the Henry County Jail on a $3,000 bond.
