The U.S. Senate is voting on new legislation that would make prosecuting mortgage fraud easier.
The vote is scheduled for today at noon. The measure, if adopted, would authorize $265 million over the next two fiscal years to hire more than 600 lawyers and investigators at the Justice Department, the Securities and Exchange Commission and other federal law-enforcement agencies.
