February 6, 2009
An Illinois woman who pleaded guilty to charges of falsifying loan applications in order to get them approved received two years felony probation, 240 hours of community service and a fine of $1,000.
Kelli R. Wilson pleaded guilty last month to a charge of financial institution fraud in excess of $100,000. Wilson was charged with persuading a married couple to lie on their loan applications so it would be approved. Wilson allowed the couple and others to use the addresses of her personal rental properties and claim they lived there rent-free to lessen the applicant's actual debt.
Wilson owned Investor's Choice Mortgage Corp. in Plainfield. The Illinois Department of Financial and Professional Regulations revoked the company's license and assessed a fine of $20,000.
