Law enforcement officials are hoping a new telephone tip line and Web site will help their bolster their efforts to prosecute mortgage fraud criminals.
The Portland office of the Federal Bureau of Investigation and the U.S. Attorney's Office have set up a new Web site http://portland.fbi.gov and telephone tip line, 503-273-5813. Fraud tips can also be emailed to the authorities at: mortgagefraudtips.portland@ic.fbi.gov.
Investigations are being handled by the Oregon Mortgage Fraud Working Group.
