May 5, 2009
A 49-year-old Indiana woman who pleaded guilty to mortgage fraud-related charges has agreed to cooperate with the government and testify before a grand jury or at trial.
Tamara E. Scott, aka Tamara Penn, was one of seven accused of running a mortgage fraud scheme that used investors with good credit to purchase homes at inflated values. The scheme reportedly resulted in more than $6 million in losses. Scott admitted to participating in the fraudulent purchase of 130 properties.
