March 20, 2009
Law enforcement officials are on the lookout for a 37-year-old Pennsylvania man who pleaded guilty to mortgage fraud-related charges. He failed to comply with a prior jail sentence for drug possession with intent to deliver.
John Orth was involved in a mortgage fraud case that named Mt. Lebanon-based developer Bernardo Katz. Orth is accused of recruiting straw buyers to purchase properties at inflated sales prices, and conspiring to submit fraudulent loan applications and other paperwork.
Authorities are asking anyone with information of Orth's whereabouts to call the sheriff's office at 412-350-4714.
