December 2, 2008
A Windsor woman who had been indicted in a mortgage fraud scheme has been cleared of all charges, although she must testify against her former employer who faces up to 189 years in prison.
Flora Carmona, 40, said she “didn’t do anything bad,” she just worked for JS Real Estate LLC showing homes and talking to people. Carmona was one of three initially indicted in Colorado last March. Nelson Feliciano, 35, of Brooklyn, N.Y. and Mark Strodtman, owner of JS Real Estate, also of Windsor still face charges.
Strodman is the primary defendant and is charged with felony racketeering, 11 counts of felony theft and 11 counts of forgery. He is being held on a $12 million bond after being arrested in Mexico in October.
